Do you prefer the city or the countryside?
I would say I’m definitely a city person. I enjoy the hustle and bustle of city life, along with the endless opportunities to meet new people from all over. I feel too limited in the countryside, not to mention I’m terrified of critters.
What kinds of city do you like?
A mix of modern and old. I like when there is an old historic quarter, but also a district with skyscrapers and a more futuristic look. Moreover, I require a city with friendly people and smiles- I couldn’t live in fast-paced, robotic place like New York City for example.
Which city do you want to go to?
I’ve always dreamt of going to San Francisco. I’ve always seen the Golden Gate Bridge, charming doll-house like homes, and cable cars on TV and imagined myself there. Moreover, San Francisco seems to be a very liberal city which I would be into.

SAMPLE ANSWER
Accidents are always unwanted and cause several damages to the lives and properties. There are different types of accidents and all of them are unwanted. In the past week, I heard about a road accident which took place right before my college.
I heard from the witnesses that a small boy was crossing the road after his school. He was alone and his parents might have forgotten about his pick up from the school. It was a busy road of New Delhi and everyone is rushing to their respective places and thus they are driving in speed. As a result, it becomes impossible for almost all of the drivers to stop their vehicles amid in the rush. But fortunately, the bus driver somehow managed to stop his car and the little boy was slightly hit by the front part of the bus.

The little boy was shocked at this event, after the witnesses’ statements. They also said that the little boy tried to cross the road but since he was alone, he could not. Besides, there were none other to help him cross the road. So, whenever he found a gap, he started the run and unfortunately he could not reach on the road divider. He had to stop in the middle of the road when he saw a large bus was approaching him from his right direction.
So, when the bus managed to stop, the bumper of the bus hit the boy that took about two or three yards away from his position. Luckily the boy did not get hurt except some scratches on his hands and feet. His water bottle, made of glass, was broken and his books were scattered on the road.

I was deeply shocked hearing about the accident. Something serious could have happened if the bus driver would not have stopped his bus at the right moment. The boy could have got killed as well or also might have got some serious injury like breaking bones of the body. But nothing has happened like that. Thanks to God. But I was surprised to hear the nobody helped the boy t cross the road which he told the people who rescued him.
The boy asked for help to people standing near his school as his parents were making late to take him home. So, being confused that his parents will not come to take him, he himself started the journey to home and became the accident victim.
The accident was not that much dangerous but it could have been. The little boy has been saved for the expertise of the bus driver. Usually, it is really difficult to stop a bus with a great speed on the road and in that case, the bus may fall victim of an accident.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
What can we do to reduce road accidents?
To prevent road accident, we have to be a responsible driver and stay vigilant. We also have to lower our ego when driving, because ego can make us do things without thinking, which is a perfect recipe for disaster. People who are proven guilty in road accident will face legal consequences, so we have to put this in mind and make sure that we always abide by the law and traffic regulations.
What do you think of drink driving?
Well, I live in a country where drinking alcoholic beverage is often frowned upon and as far as I know, there are not so many accident involving intoxicated drivers here. If drinking itself is a big no no in this country, then leave alone driving while you are drunk. It can get you into a real trouble because it’s illegal and somebody may get hurt or killed, so I’m definitely against it.
IELTS Speaking Interview
What loses do you think can occur when an accident happens?
The worst thing that can happen is the loss of life. People can be badly injured or even disfigured. If you get hurt, then you have to pay for the medical bills, and not all people have health insurance here in my country. We also have to pay a lot of money fixing our car or motorcycle if it is broken, so there’s a financial damage too. In some cases, we will have to pay compensation for someone else’s car damage. So, we better think of all the risks and loses resulted from an accident before doing anything stupid as a driver.
Who should be responsible for road accidents?
It depends on who is being reckless. People will easily blame motorcyclist or car drivers for an accident, but we should realize that anyone who does not adhere to traffic regulation can also cause an accident, including pedestrians. For example, if I ride a motorcycle at 90km/h and suddenly there is some random person jaywalking, then I will have to make a quick decision.
I can just hit the brake abruptly with a risk of having a fatal accident and possibly hurting myself or I can just try to slow the bike as much as I can with a risk of hitting the pedestrian. Either way, there’s always a risk being involved, and it is more likely that I will have to take the blame despite the fact that I don’t brake any rules.
