IELTS SPEAKING INTERVIEW

PART – 1 INTRO

What is your full name?

My name is Rfiq Yuta.

How may I address you?

You may address me as Rfiq.

How may I address you?

You may address me as Rfiq.

Do you like to watch sports on TV?

Not at all! I despise it. I get extremely bored and disinterested. I usually try to avoid watching sports on TV at all costs unless it’s an exciting event, like the World Cup or Super Bowl. In that case, I go for the social event rather than the game itself.

Do you play any sports?

Not anymore. I was an avid swimmer as a child, but I gave that up after high school, as it was quite time-consuming. Nowadays, I enjoy going to the gym, running around the lake by my house, and going on mountain treks. I’m not sure if these are considered sports, but I’m really into physical activity.

Which is the popular sports in your country?

Soccer of course! As soccer is the sport of the world, that would be number one. People go wild when our team wins a game- they even drive around waving flags, blocking off the streets! Apart from this, many people enjoy playing tennis and doing martial arts.

Who is your favorite sports star?

As I’m not a big sports fan, I don’t really have one. However, I think I may like Cristiano Ronaldo. Although I don’t know anything about him or his athletic abilities, I think I’ve always been drawn to him because of his looks.

Coronavirus is a chronic viral family that starts from a normal cold and cough to severe respiratory disease that can have fatal effect on its patients. This virus was only identified recently in Humans. Coronavirus was mainly found in animals like bats, camels, cattle and cats.

According to the researchers and doctors, this deadly virus is zoonotic which mainly spreads due to consumption of certain animals. It is a contagious infection which transmits from person to person due to close contact. This occurs when the infected patient coughs or sneezes or touches the other person. The method of infection is similar to many other viral diseases.

World Health Organization mentions that the signs of coronavirus can be cough, breathlessness, fever or breathing difficulties. If the infection spreads in the entire body, it can lead to failure of kidney and even death.

Experts say that this virus is less deadly than those identified before. It has taken the life of hundreds of people around the world, especially China. The scientists are still working to develop a vaccine for this global scourge, however, that is likely to take a long time. Until then, the best course of action is to follow usual precautions such as avoiding the contact with sick and practising good hygiene such as washing hands, etc.

When in public, individuals can choose to use a disposable mask. It is a global emergency and people should work on this together so as it does not become a deadly pandemic.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS

What is coronavirus?

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause respiratory illness in humans. They are called “corona” because of crown-like spikes on the surface of the virus. Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and the common cold are examples of coronaviruses that cause illness in humans.

The new strain of coronavirus — SARS-CoV-2 — was first reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019. It has since spread to every country around the world.

Where do coronaviruses come from?

Coronaviruses are often found in bats, cats and camels. The viruses live in but don’t infect the animals. Sometimes these viruses then spread to different animal species. The viruses may change (mutate) as they transfer to other species. Eventually, the virus can jump from animal species and begin to infect humans. In the case of SARS-CoV-19, the first people infected are thought to have contracted the virus at a food market that sold meat, fish and live animals.

How do you get COVID-19?

SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, enters your body through your mouth, nose or eyes (directly from the airborne droplets or from the transfer of the virus from your hands to your face). It then travels to the back of your nasal passages and mucous membrane in the back of your throat. It attaches to cells there, begins to multiply and moves into lung tissue. From there, the virus can spread to other body tissues.
