Do you like to collect things made by hands?
Yes, I like to collect things made by hand. I have a huge collection of handmade bags.
Do you ever take handicraft lessons at school?
There was a craft period in my school. I learnt embroidery, smocking and I also made many pen stands from ice cream sticks.

Are handicrafts popular in India?
Yes, handicrafts are very popular in India. The puppets of Rajasthan, the hand knotted carpets of Kashmir, the ceramic pottery of Jaipur and the tie and die of Rajasthan are just a few examples.
Do you think children should learn more about handicrafts?
yes, I think children should learn more about handicrafts. They would become more creative, and who knows one day they may start earning from this art. Handicrafts also keep us connected to our root.
Do you think handicrafts meaningful activities?
Yes, handicrafts are meaningful activities. They bring out the hidden talent of people. Also, through handicrafts, we can stay connected to our roads and get knowledge about a culture
Do you like to wear fashionable clothes?
Yes, sometimes. However, I do understand that not all types of clothes suit everyone. So, I wear clothes that suit me.
Is there anything that you used to wear in past that you don’t wear now?
As a child, I used to wear a lot of dresses, which I don’t wear now. I do wear western formal clothes, but not dresses.
How often do you go for shopping for clothes?
I go shopping for clothes when I need something. I am not a shopaholic and I don’t buy clothes on impulse.

PART – 2 CUE CARD
Describe a meeting you remember going to college or school or at work.

SAMPLE ANSWER
I remember a meeting that I attended about six months back. I work for Tech Mahindra which is one of the largest software developers in India, and offers IT services and solutions to telecommunications sector across the globe. Our major client is British Telecommunications plc (BT). The meeting that I refer to is one of the longest ones and most of the attendees were stressed out during it. The top management called this meeting to discuss important elements of the specific project which was meant for BT.
The meeting comprised eleven people, the general manager, the head of design department, the chief executive officer, the chief operations officer, three of company directors, my reporting manager who is the president of the company, two other senior systems engineers, and me as one of the project engineers. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the cost overrun and the delay that has put the company’s reputation at stake. The top management was worried about the state of that project since it could impact other new projects adversely. That was understandable. You know what, when the top management is shaken, every one down the channel has to bear the brunt of it.
There’s no doubt that the meeting was unpleasant because everyone looked to place his frustration on others and blamed one another. The meeting started with the overview of the project and update of what had been completed so far. It also discussed the unforeseen and unexpected difficulties that each department faced and what solutions were offered to counter those difficulties. Overall, each department received many brickbats in the meeting. My boss and I saw this coming.

PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
Do you think adult education is useful?
Yes, it is by any means. The adult education can bring the host of new opportunities, and may help to see the world with a different perspective for aspirants. First of all, it makes their minds more active instead of passive. Secondly, it makes their minds observant of new ideas. As I said, it could also open up a new world of possibilities. Lastly, it could bring excitement into life. There are several marvelous benefits behind the adult education.
In the future, do you think more adults will enroll in courses of study?
Definitely, I foresee such desire of individuals returning to school for continuing education. Dynamics in business are charging rapidly, and every year the disruptive innovations give birth to the paradigm shift. The large corporations and people now can’t sit still. They need to keep themselves all the time updated. This is how only they can remain marketable otherwise they will be crushed by the bottleneck competition of skills possessed by the other people. Considering the today’s pressure situation, it reminds me of the evolution theory of Darwin – ‘survival of the fittest’. Those companies and employees who aren’t skilled and innovative will be thrown out of the competition sooner.
