IELTS SPEAKING FULL INTERVIEW
PART – 1 INTRO PART
What is your full name?
My name is Lumhija Kulri.
How may I address you?
You may address me as Lumhija.
IELTS Speaking Interview
May I see your ID?
Sure, here it is.
Can you swim?
Yes, I can. I learned at school when I was about 7 years old. Swimming lessons were compulsory at our school, like most schools I think.
Are there many places to swim near you?
Yes, there are a few public swimming pools. There is the main indoor one at a big sports complex in the center of town. There are also a couple of outdoor ones, but you can only use them in summer as it is being too cold in winter. One is a big one in a park, the other is a much smaller one.
Do you think everyone should learn to swim?
Of course, I think it’s very important. Firstly, you spend much of your life on holiday by water, for example, when you go to the beach on holiday, so you won’t be able to enjoy yourself with your friends if you can’t swim. Also, for safety reasons it’s very important. You often hear about sad accidents involving young children so it’s very important.

What do you like to do when you are alone?
I really enjoy being alone in the weekend morning, reading some books and playing computer games. During that time, I can do something I am interested in, and don’t have to think about how to brace for the coming problems.
Do you like to spend time with your friends or just stay at home on your own?
Well, if I were to choose between the two, I will probably go with hanging out with my close friends because you need to be sociable in the society and friendship really adds spice to my life; whereas, you know, spending too much being alone is really boring and terrible.
PART – 2 CUE CARD
Describe a match of any kind of sport that you will never forget.
SAMPLE ANSWER
Well, I would like to talk about the final football match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Uzbekistan in Asian Football Championship in January, 2018.
IELTS Speaking Interview
You know, it is still spectacular and impressive although our team didn’t win the cup for the following two reasons. Firstly because the team contributed a notable performance in the decisive match under extremely freezing weather. After miraculous victories over Iraq and Qatar, our team was expected to create another mircale and be the champion. The team played with all the strength and attempt they had despite the harsh weather condition.
Secondly, our team is the representative of patriotism and pride of national identity. (Example) As you know, thanks to excellent team spirit, the intense snow couldn’t prevent our boys from moving forward and fought courageously. They tried their best to bring the prestigious trophy to our country. Vietnamese people as well as other countries’ residents really appreciated their constant effort throughout the tournament.
Although we lost 1-2 by team Uzbekistan at the last minute and couldn’t claim championship, we have still felt so proud of our “heroes” and now they are the newgeneration idols of our country.
PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
Do you think there is any connection between sport and economy?
Honestly, there is a strong connection between those two things, in which games can help boost tourism industry by attracting people from other countries to come to one country. Nothing can be more obvious than the case of Russia and World Cup 2018, which attracted a huge number of tourists from all over the world. Another example is Roger Federer, a well known tennis player who has achieved a number of prizes in his life and he has a number of fans who really want to travel to Switzerland to meet him. Thanks to a sports event or an athlete, a huge number of people may come to one country and therefore, national economy can be boosted.
Is there any violence at sporting events in your country?
Unfortunately, there is, and there now has to be a heavy police presence at most football games. The worst cases in the past have been the home games, when the neighbouring city rivals play and the fans want to cause trouble, by fighting and causing harm to city property. The police deploy the horse guards to keep the peace and sometimes send in the armed police if things get really bad. I always avoid going into the city if I know there are any football games on that day.
