PART – 1 INTRO PART
What is your full name?
My name is Ladli Kumar.
May I see your ID?
Sure, here you go.
How may I address you?
You may address me as Ladli.
Have you ever seen wild animals before?
Well, I remember having gone to a zoo when I was in the 11th grade. We opted for a lion safari. It was pretty scary as one of the lions pounced on the front and back of our van.
Which wild animals do you like the most?
I admire tigers. I like watching them hunting for their prey in National Geographic. Apart from that I love their eyes. They have beautiful eyes that glitter at night.
Do you like to go to the zoo?
Yes, I would love to. It is such a hilarious sight to watch a monkey pick louse from another monkey. I also enjoy watching the elephants bathe, observing cheetahs and tigers growl in their cages.
What helps you concentrate?
When I’m doing some important work, I switch off my mobile phone. This helps me to focus more on what I’m doing. Of late, I have been doing Yoga, which helps me greatly.
What stops you from concentrating?
Lack of good sleep and multitasking. If I sleep less, I won’t be able to concentrate the next morning. If too many things are spinning at a time, it is difficult to focus.
PART – 2 CUE CARD
Describe a person who you like to spend time with
You should say:
– what relationship the two of you have
– how often you are together
– what you usually do together
and explain why you like to spend time with this person.
SAMPLE ANSWER
I spend a lot of time with my best friend John. I’ve known him since primary school where we were in the same class. We only see each other during our university holidays because we don’t study in the same city. My university is in London but he lives in Liverpool.
When we are together we always play lots of sports like football and tennis. John loves Manchester United and he is a very good footballer. I prefer tennis but I am not as good as my friend. We also both enjoy playing computer games. Our favourite is probably World of Warcraft which many of my friends play too.
As we live in a small town there aren’t many places to go so we normally hang out at the sports centre or in the big park near my house. We’re both big film buffs so we go to the cinema quite often and we get a student discount.
I really like spending time with John, he’s such a nice person and very friendly. I always have a good time when we are together and he never fails to make me laugh. In fact, I think he’s the funniest person I know.
PART – 3 FOLLOW UPS
Do you think Relationships in the Family are Important?
I think that family relationships are really important. Family sticks with a person no matter what the situation is, and they always support and care for a person, even if the world turns its back on him/her. Being in a family inculcates traits like responsibility, compassion, and emotional strength. A family that comprises grandparents makes the children of that family cultured and knowledgeable.
Do the young people in your country like to interact with old people?
It is not something that I can say in general. Some young people do not want to interact with older people as they are more confident about their own ways and lifestyle. They sometimes feel like their ways are being interfered with, by older people. However, many young people do like talking to older people because they can take a lot of advice from them. I personally love talking to older people whenever I need concrete advice.
Why do some children get spoilt in families?
Some children get spoilt in their families because they are not looked after well, and there is no one to supervise their actions. This mostly happens when parents are both working, and they have little time for their children. Also, parents sometimes flood children with a lot of privileges and then keep no checks on them, which may be the reason for them, getting spoilt.
