PART – 2 CUE CARD
Describe a person who you think is very open
You should say
– Who this person is
– How you know this person
– Why do you think this person is very open
– And explain how you feel about this person
SAMPLE ANSWER:
Being an extrovert person, I love to talk with new people as it helps me to know about ins and outs of the society. I know many people as I’m a social butterfly/ animal, some of them are shy and introvert, while others are intelligent, polite and very open.
Although it is really hard to find an open person in present time as everyone pretends to be fake in order to flatter others for their selfish mean, here I would like to talk about a person who is very open. Her name is Rajni. She is my close knit buddy since my childhood. She lives a stone throw away from my house. If I talk about her personality, I’d definitely say, she is outgoing and gets with people.
I have experienced her straightforward nature many times because she never hides her thoughts and feelings. She effortlessly express her emotions in front of others without any hesitation. Moreover, her thoughts are not only rational but also pragmatic. There are some reasons why I think she is open. In school, she used to participate in debate competitions as well as habitual of winning them. She reads many things from different resources which is immensely helpful for her along with others. Owing to these reasons, she always has something to share with others.
Even though she shares her personal matters with her friends without thinking twice, I believe it’s not good under some circumstances. However, she tries to lend her helping hand to needy ones. That’s why she is loved by everyone.
I personally feel that she has good cognitive skills to handle the unpleasant circumstances. Nowadays people are worried about their personal life and don’t care about others. But her way of thinking is totally unique. At the same time she does not like any discrimination related to gender or color and she loves to talk with new people. People also support her since she did many things for their welfare. Lastly, I would say, I am lucky to have a great bonding with her and do not want to lose her.
PART – 3 FOLLOW UP
Is it difficult for Indian people to express their feelings?
Yes, I think Indian people are very polite and considerate and because of that most people don’t express their feelings easily in public. Also, I think a lot of us care about our image more than our mental peace and so we hide our feelings.
Who do you think talk more? Children or grown-ups?
Definitely, children and there are two reasons for it. Firstly, they are curious because of their age and this curiosity only gets satisfied by asking questions. Secondly, they are not afraid to speak their mind because they don’t care about appearing rude or hurting others by their words. Adults also ignore children’s words because of their age.
What do you think is the difference between boys and girls in expressing their feelings?
I think girls are generally more open in expressing their feelings. Boys think they might appear weak, if they show their feelings and as a result, they try to hide them. This carries on to adult life too. That is why I think women complain about their husbands not opening up.
Do you think people are more open than in the past?
On the contrary, I think people are less open. I think people today are more worried about their image and thus they try to present themselves as a perfect person. But this in turn means they hide their true feelings. Also, I think people today lay more emphasis on politeness and thus they don’t speak up if they feel something is wrong.
