A friend of yours is going on a holiday soon. He/she has asked you to recommend a destination. Write a letter to your friend and recommend a good place for a holiday that you have visited before.

Model Answer:

Dear Patricia,

I hope you’re doing fine. I’m writing with regards to your previous letter, in which you asked me to suggest a holiday destination. I’ve got a great place in mind just for the two of you.

Last year John and I had been to Germany, just before the new year. We stayed in Berlin, one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to and is home to a wide spectrum of people with truly diverse backgrounds and cultures. The city is remarkably beautiful and serves as an abode for intrepid travellers. During this time of the year, it is covered in snow, and the whole city is elegantly decorated for the festival of Christmas and New Year. Besides an impressive city skyline, one-third of Berlin is covered in lush forests, quaint parks, gardens, rivers, canals and lakes.

We stayed at Hotel Brandenburger Tor Potsdam and loved the service and the hospitality they offered. They have a romantic getaway package that I believe would be suitable for two of you. They even serve traditional cuisine. Moreover, popular shops, museums, cafes, and many tourist attractions are located within walking distance from this hotel.

There are several things you can do in Berlin including shore trips, mountain tours, shopping, historical & heritage tours, enjoying concerts, theatre and the nightlife. My personal favourites were Berlin sightseeing, concerts and nightlife.

I also have to mention the delicious cuisine. You really should try Wiener Schnitzel and Lebensmittel Mitte. They are absolutely fabulous- the best I’ve ever had.
