IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You want to hold a surprise party for a friend who is visiting his home town after a long time from a foreign country. Write a letter to a common friend asking for his help in organizing the party and in your letter:

– Write the reasons for organizing the party

– Describe when, where and how you would be organizing the party

– Ask your friend to meet you in person for further discussions

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Mike

I am expressing a desire to organize get together a party for steve johnson . Who had just returned from Germany after five years. It’s been ages since to see him and I am very excited to meet my friend. So I decided to organise a party for him . he will be coming in June 2022 for 20 days .

The venue needs to be finalised along with the menu for the party. I am planning to organise a party on June 27 2022. I am thinking of arranging this party in Hotel Marriot as it has a spacious banquet hall where we can seat and enjoy a buffet lunch / dinner.

Furthermore, I would like to discuss the party with you . Therefore can we meet and discuss party plans? I would like to have a get-together kind of party for him . please let me know when we can meet in this regard.
