IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

Write a letter to the department of education to provide financial assistance for a short training course that you want to do in some foreign country. In your letter, you should tell:

– What course you want to take

– Why you want to take the course

– How financial assistance can help you.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you to seek monetary help from you to do a cooking course which is intended for 3 months in the US.

As I above mentioned, it is a cookery course which is going to commence on 1st May 2020 till 1st August. I am fortunate enough that I have been selected for this intensive course.

To be honest, it will not only remove culture shock but also make me able to get hands-on experience. Apart from it, I shall get a chance to know more about cooking from veteran chefs. So I don’t want to miss the boat.

I would be highly indebted to you for your financial help as I will be able to bear the expenses, of course, such as tuition fees, accommodation and transportation as well.

I hope you will reply favourably by considering my achievements in cooking competitions and the hard labour that I did to get this opportunity. Your financial aid can make my life and after completion of the training, I will be able to run my own cooking classes and I shall be able to repay the amount.
