You are thinking of applying to a postgraduate course at an overseas college or university.
Write a letter to the admission officer. In your letter,
– Introduce yourself
– Say why you are writing
– Request information about entry requirements, tuition fees and the availability of accommodation
Model Answer:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Elizabeth Gomez, writing to express my interest in applying to a Master’s degree course at your university. I am hoping that you will send me some information regarding this.
To introduce myself a little, I have completed my graduation earlier this year from the University of Rio in Brazil, and my major was Social Science. I completed 165 credits for my graduation, and my CGPA was 3.79 out of 4. Now I am planning to pursue my Master’s degree in the same major (i.e. Social Science), and I would like to apply to your university for that. I need some information which I could not find on your website.
I would first need the entry requirements for the course, along with information to apply for any scholarship available. Please send me details of the tuition fees and the schedule of payment as well. Since I have decided to stay at the university campus in Australia, I am planning to stay at the university offered accommodation. So I need your help to secure a seat or a room at the university residence if I am accepted at your university.
I would highly appreciate the information in a return mail at your convenience. Thank you in advance.
