You recently discovered plans to build a new airport in your area and are unhappy with it. Write a letter to the local authority.
In your letter
– say how you found out about the plans
– explain what problems your neighborhood will face
– suggest some possible solutions to those problems.
SAMPLE ANSWER
I am writing to you to express my dissatisfaction about the authority’s decision to construct a new airport near to Gotri area.
Recently I was discovered while reading the Times of India newspaper that the new airport is being planned in Gorti near to lakeside area and I was very surprised about the central authority’s decision for selection of site.
Kindly note that this area is a recedential area and there is a primary school just in front of Gotri lack, hence loud noise from airplanes will disturb students and local citizens. In addition, the roads of the gotri area are four-lane roads and there is no space for future expansion of the roads, so this will further worsen the traffic consumption.
Instead, I recommend planning the airport in the Sevasi area which is a suburban area 5km away from Gotri, also there are plenty of government lands are available there, thus airport and road expansions could be planned easily.
