You will be graduating from university and would like to invite your family to the ceremony
Write a letter of invitation to your parents. In the letter:
– Explain that you have completed your studies
– Give details of the event, including time, date and dress code
– Let them know how many tickets they have and who they are for
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Mom and Dad,
I’m extremely delighted to say that I passed my final semester exam with a first class. I received the results today morning, and the college announced the graduation day will be by the end of next month.
The ceremony will be held in the amphitheater, adjacent to the town hall, on 5 February, and is expected to begin by 5 pm. As it is the weekend, and it is in the evening, you will not have any problem to reach here. You can also be happy that the university has no particular dress code for the visitors. We have a photo session after the ceremony at 8 pm, followed by a grand dinner and a musical concert which may go up to late night.
They have let us know that each candidate will be offered only four entry tickets for the event, and is restricted to only close relatives. Apart from you two, I wish to invite my first cousins, Sally and Andrea. I came to know that they will also be graduating by the end of this year.
Please don’t have any appointments that day. I expect the full four member team here.
