After working in your department for over 3 years, you feel the need to switch your department.
Write a letter to your boss requesting a change in the department. In the letter mention:
• Why do you want to switch departments?
• Which department would you prefer?
• Why do you think you are a good fit in that department?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in regards to my keen interest for different department within the organization.
At the moment, my association with the finance department has been for more than 3 years. However, recently I completed my Post Graduation in Human Resource Management and I assume it will be a right time to alter my role and responsibility.
Undoubtedly, I will be interested to join the human resource team for the upcoming years of my service. Also, I will be always available to extend a hand to those who seek my advice in the finance team.
My current qualification has added a value to my skills which I would like to further use it for the advancement of our organization. Furthermore, my forte is into talent acquisition as well as payroll. Hence, my acquired knowledge will make me a better fit for human resource department.
I hope you grant to permission for this internal transfer. I will look forward to seeing your positive response.
