You are applying for a job. As well as attaching a CV, you need to write a cover letter explaining your reasons for choosing this particular job at this particular company, and why you would be a good hire.
You should include:
– Possible qualifications or reasons for you to be hired
– Your energy and enthusiasm for the job
– Your past experience in a similar position.
SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Sir,
I am writing to express my interest in the position of the Software Engineer that was advertised in the local newspaper last week.
After my successful completion of graduation in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, I started admiring the job of a Software Engineer. Therefore, I took a Master’s Degree in Applied Software Engineering in a couple of years. It was at this time, I came to know about your company from one of my close friends.
I became very much impressed with the performance of your company even during adverse economic situations, and I would consider it a great opportunity if I am hired by you. I am really confident that I can develop my skills under your expert guidance and I look forward to be innovative once I am placed in your company.
I worked for Intel Corporation as a Senior Engineer for two years, and my main responsibilities there was to provide machine code solutions to processing problems. I believe this problem-solving ability makes me a suitable candidate at your esteemed company.
