IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You purchased a book online, but when it arrived, it had missing pages and printing errors. Write a letter to the online bookstore. In your letter:

– Describe the book you ordered.

– Explain the issues you encountered with the book’s quality.

– Tell the online bookstore what you would like them to do about the problem.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Customer Service Team,

I recently ordered a book titled “The Art of Mindful Living” by Thich Nhat Hanh from your website (Order ID: #456789), which was delivered to me on April 15th.

Unfortunately, the copy I received is defective. Several pages are missing, including parts of chapters 3 and 5, and some of the printed text is smudged and difficult to read. This has made it impossible for me to enjoy or benefit from the book, which I was very eager to read.

I would appreciate it if you could send me a replacement copy of the book as soon as possible. If that is not possible, I would like to request a full refund. I have attached photos of the damaged pages for your reference.

I look forward to your prompt response and a solution to this issue.
