IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

Write a letter to the manager of a company which is based in a foreign country to recommend your family member for a suitable job.

In your letter,

– Introduce yourself and say what you are doing

– Describe the role your family member is interested in

– Explain why he or she is suitable for the job

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is ZXC, and I am currently working as a software engineer in Toronto, Canada. I am writing to recommend my cousin, Rohan Mehta, for a suitable position in your company.

Rohan is particularly interested in a role related to digital marketing, as he has recently completed his Master’s degree in Marketing from the University of Melbourne. He is eager to apply his skills in a dynamic and international environment like yours.

He is highly organized, creative, and possesses excellent communication skills. During his internship at a leading marketing firm, he successfully led a campaign that increased client engagement by 30%. His ability to work well in a team and adapt quickly to new challenges makes him a strong candidate.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could consider his application for any relevant openings in your organization.
