You are watching television and saw a program being shown early in the morning that contained a lot of violence. You believe the program is unsuitable for that time of day. Write a letter to the manager of the television station. In your letter

-Give reason for writing.

-Explain what you think the problem is with the program.

-Say what you would like the station manager to do.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my concern about a television program broadcast early in the morning on your channel yesterday. The show, “Crime Streets,” contained several scenes of intense violence, which I believe are inappropriate for that time of day.

Many families, including children, watch television in the morning before school. Exposing young viewers to violent content can have a negative impact on their behaviour and emotional well-being. Such programs should be shown later in the evening when children are unlikely to be watching.

I kindly request that your station review its scheduling policy and ensure that programs containing violent or disturbing scenes are broadcast only after 9 p.m. This would help protect younger audiences and maintain your channel’s positive reputation.
