You recently tried to pay your electricity bill online through your provider’s website, but the payment failed even though the money was deducted from your account.

Write a letter to the electricity company. In your letter:

– Describe what happened during the payment process

– Explain the issue and how it affected you

– Ask them to investigate and refund the money if necessary

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to report an issue I experienced while paying my electricity bill online through your website on June 25th. After entering my account details and confirming the payment of ₹2,450, the amount was immediately deducted from my bank account. However, I received an error message stating that the transaction had failed.

Due to this issue, my bill remains unpaid on your system, and I have now received a reminder notice with a late fee added. This has caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience, especially as I rely on your services for essential household tasks.

I kindly request that you investigate this matter urgently. Please verify the failed transaction and, if the payment was indeed unsuccessful, refund the deducted amount or adjust it against my current bill. I have attached the bank statement and transaction reference number for your reference.
