You have noticed that the large public clock in your town square has not been working for several weeks.

Write a letter to the local council. In your letter:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention that the large public clock in the town square has not been functioning for several weeks.

This clock has long served as a central timepiece for our community. Many residents, especially the elderly and schoolchildren, rely on it to keep track of time while commuting or attending daily activities. It is not only a practical fixture but also a symbolic part of our town’s heritage.

Its continued malfunction has caused confusion, missed appointments, and general inconvenience. Visitors also find it unhelpful when exploring the area.

I kindly suggest that the council arrange for immediate repairs, possibly by hiring a local technician or contacting the original manufacturer. Regular maintenance thereafter would help prevent future issues.
