You received a parking fine that you believe was issued by mistake.

Write a letter to the local traffic department. In your letter:

– Describe the situation and why you believe it was a mistake

– Include any supporting details

– Ask them to cancel or review the fine

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to formally contest a parking fine (Reference No. TX45721) that I received on June 8th near Greenfield Avenue.

According to the notice, my car was parked in a no-parking zone. However, I believe this is a mistake. I had parked in a designated parking area with clear signage permitting two-hour parking between 9 AM and 6 PM. I arrived at 10:00 AM and left before 11:30 AM, well within the allowed limit.

I have attached photographs showing the parking sign and the timestamped receipt from the nearby café I visited, confirming the time I was parked there.

Given this information, I kindly request that you review the circumstances and cancel the fine. I believe the ticket was issued in error and hope this matter can be resolved promptly.
