IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You’re visiting a town where you once worked. Write to a friend you worked with there. Include the following in your letter:

– Tell your friend about your life now

– Give him/her details of your visit

– Arrange how you can meet.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sarah,

I hope this letter finds you well! It’s been a while since we last spoke, and I wanted to share that I’ll be visiting Brighton next week—where it all began for us at GreenTech Solutions.

Life has changed quite a bit since then. I’ve moved to Manchester and recently started a new job in digital marketing. It’s exciting but hectic! On the personal side, I’ve taken up photography as a hobby—it helps me unwind after work.

I’ll be in Brighton from the 20th to the 24th for a short break. I’m staying near the pier, and I’d love to catch up while I’m in town. How about meeting for coffee on the 22nd in the afternoon? Maybe at the café we used to visit near the office?
