IELTS GENERAL TRAINING TASK 1
You recently organised an all day meeting for your company, which took place in a local hotel. In their feedback, participants at the meeting said that they liked the hotel, but they were unhappy about the food that was served for lunch. Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter Say
– What the participant liked about the hotel.
– Explain why they were unhappy about the hotel.
– Suggest what the manager should do to improve the food in future.
SAMPLE ASNWER
Dear Sir or Madam, I am Shweta Bhat, CEO of ABC company. We had organised a meeting at your hotel on Monday 15th dec, 2024. I am writing this letter to inform you that the participants were unhappy about the food that was served for lunch to them.
Let me first start with some positive feedback we received about the hotel from the members. Everyone was really impressed by the decoration and the arrangements that was done by your team. Moreover, the service of your staff was quick and the staff was really polite and patient with everyone.
However, most of the participants were disappointed by the quality of the food that was served to them. Firstly, the portion was small and the food was too salty and oily. Eventhough, we already had informed your team about the level of spiceness still it was not followed porperly. As per my suggestions, in future do refer to client special notes for recipes. Also, taste the food before your staff serves it.
Lastly, hiring a qualified chef will be an asset to your hotel. I look forward hearing from you.
