IELTS GENERAL TRAINING TASK 1

Your son is learning a second language at school, but he needs some extra lessons. Write a letter to a teacher asking for help. In your letter: explain why your son needs help. ask the teacher about her teaching experience and methods. and suggest a possible schedule for the lessons.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Ms. Sarah,

I am writing this letter to request for you to give classes to my son Ronit for French language, as he is finding it difficult to learn at school.

Ronit has taken French as the second language this year in his school. However, he feels that, the teacher in his class is going really fast with the lessons and that is why, he is not able to understand and grasp well what is taught to him. Hence, I feel he needs some additional aid to learn well.

Although a friend of mine briefly mentioned about your work, I would request to kindly enlighten me about your pattern of teaching and also since how long you have been training the children in this field. It is important, as I want to enrol Ronit with someone who can work well with him.

If you have time on every Saturday morning at 10.00a.m, we can keep a two hour session, as Ronit also has holiday from school that day. He will be fresh early morning to learn better. Also, he will then have the rest of the day to rest.
