IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

You have just enrolled in a 12-week English class but have found that you have a family problem and you will have to return home. Write to the school. In your letter explain

– what has happened.

– request a refund.

– ask whether you will be able to return at a later date.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear [School Name],

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you that, due to an unexpected family emergency, I am unable to continue with my enrollment in the 12-week English course. Unfortunately, I need to return home immediately to attend to a serious family matter.

Given these unforeseen circumstances, I would like to kindly request a refund for the course fees I have already paid. I understand there may be policies regarding refunds, and I am hopeful that an exception can be made considering the situation.

Additionally, I would like to inquire whether it would be possible to resume the course at a later date once my personal circumstances have been resolved. I would greatly appreciate any information you can provide on this matter.
