You have been asked to organise a special dinner to celebrate your company’s achievements this year. Write a letter to the restaurant you have chosen. In your letter say

– why you want to come to the restaurant and when

– how many people will attend the dinner

– what special requirements you have

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to request a reservation at your esteemed restaurant for a special dinner to celebrate our company’s achievements this year. We are particularly impressed by your excellent reputation for both cuisine and ambiance, which we believe will make our event memorable. We would like to book the dinner for the evening of Friday, November 10th, at 7:00 PM.

We anticipate approximately 20 attendees, including our management team and key employees. Given the significance of the occasion, we would appreciate a private dining area to ensure an intimate and focused atmosphere for our celebrations.

Additionally, we would like to request a customized menu that includes vegetarian options, as we have a few guests with dietary restrictions. If possible, we would also appreciate recommendations for a suitable wine pairing to complement our menu selections.
