Houses for sale this weekend
McCann Real Estate has three auctions of properties next weekend, all vastly different housing options, so there should be one to suit you. The auctions will take place at each of the premises on Saturday which are open for inspection this week. All three properties have already been inspected by large numbers of people and we are expecting some crowds on Saturday. People interested in bidding should come early to the auction so they can register.
7 Jemima Street
This is a lovely, two-bedroom cottage in a quiet street. The house was built in the 1960s and this is the first time it has been on the market as it has been in the same family since then. It has an established rear garden and parking for one car. It is close to shops and is a short walk from public transport to the city. The house has never been renovated and the original features add to its charm. The perfect house for a first home buyer.

WHAT IT’S LIKE BEING A POSTMAN?
Being a postwoman or postman is not the job for everyone, but most people who do it stick with it for many years because it does have many positive factors. The first is, though you have to be at the post office to pick up your deliveries at 6 a.m., the working day is only as long as it takes to deliver all the post. So once a delivery worker knows their route very well, they can finish work every day by the early afternoon. Considering the short hours worked, the salary is quite good and other benefits such as six weeks holiday and a government pension are very attractive.
A postman needs to walk between 10 and 15 kilometres a day, which makes it one of the jobs that takes the most steps every day. This may be why postmen tend to live about five years longer than the average person. The exercise is all well and good, but a walking postman also has to contend with all weathers. They never get used to walking in the rain and snow, and have to take shelter during a hailstorm. Their biggest challenge is keeping the mail dry. If an address washes off an envelope it can never be delivered.

Dogs can be a bit of a danger, but every postman knows if you carry a few dog biscuits in your pocket, even animals that seem ferocious on the first day of the route will soon be waiting calmly at the letterbox knowing they are about to get fed.
With more people shopping online, postmen are having to carry a lot more parcels. The larger ones arrive on a separate delivery truck, but a postman needs to carry all small packages that weigh less than a kilo. All these small packages add up to a lot of extra weight. This why most postmen have some form of trolley to push these days. The satchel over the shoulder is just not big enough anymore. Does being a postman sound like the job for you?
