WHAT IS PARCEL POST SHIPPING?
Parcel Post is one of the basic retail services offered by the United States Postal Service for packages. Although slower than Priority Mail, it’s typically less expensive, particularly for larger items.
Businesses often make use of its commercial cousin, Parcel Select, for shipping merchandise.
A. Parcel Post packages can weigh up to 70 lb. and may measure 130 combined inches along its two longest sides. Packages that weigh more than 35 lb – 25 lb. for books and other printed materials are subject to additional fees. In addition, packaging in unusual shapes, including tubes or overweight or oversized packages, may also be subject to additional fees.

B. Parcel Post shipping is intended for use within the United States. These packages can be sent to any U.S. address, including territories such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Parcel Post packages may also be sent to military addresses, following the standard practices for military mail.
C. Parcel Post costs are dependent on the weight of the package and the zone to which it will be shipped, which itself varies according to the origin of the mailing. The lowest price for Parcel Post, which is sending a I-Ib. package to the closest zone, is $5.10, as of July 2011. A 70-lb. package sent to the same location would be $22.79, while sending identical packages to zones farther away can be as low as $5.41 and as high as $70.43. In general, the prices rise because of two factors, farther away the destination and heavier the package.
D. A variety of extra options are available when shipping Parcel Post. These include proof of mailing, delivery confirmation, insurance, signature confirmation, return receipts and restricted delivery. These services, however, require extra fees when mailed.

IS THERE SUCH A THING AS ‘NATURALLY CREATIVE’?
While we often think of creativity as an event or as a natural skill that some people have and some do not, research actually suggests that both creativity and non-creativity are learned.
According to psychology professor Barbara Kerr, “approximately 22 percent of the variance [in creativity] is due to the influence of genes.” This discovery was made by studying the differences in creative thinking between sets of twins.
All of this to say, claiming that “I’m just not the creative type” is a pretty weak excuse for avoiding creative thinking. Certainly, some people are primed to be more creative than others. However, nearly every person is born with some level of creative skill and the majority of our creative thinking abilities are trainable.
