ACADEMIC WRITING TASK 1:-
The graphs below show the trends in three boys’ and girls’ names which are currently popular in the UK.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Sample Answer
The two charts demonstrate the trends in six presently popular male and female names across the span of seventy – five years. Each chart is dedicated to a different gender, and offers the number of children per mille which were given each name.
Out of the boys’ names, Daniel has been the most consistently popular name, starting with 4 per thousand in 1925, then briefly reaching 12 in 1975 before dropping to approximately 10 in 2000. Conversely, Alexandra has been the least popular, staying below 2 until 1975, at which point it experienced a sharp increase, taking it to 10 in 2000. Oliver, finally, has had the most erratic journey, jumping up and down between 0 and 5 before climbing up to 11 in 2000.
In comparison, the girls’ names have been far more stable and far less forward: both Sophia and Isabella were virtually in existent up until 1975 when they suddenly began to ruse, finding themselves at 11 and 9 respectively in 2000. Emily, while not as unpopular, was also below 2 until 1975 when it grew 10 3.5, then rapidly rose to 11 in 2000.
Overall, we can see that both girls’ and boys’ name only became popular after 1975, but the change was far more sudden for girls’ names, while some of the boys’ names enjoyed occasional success prior to 1975.

WRITING TASK 2 (AC+GT):-
The number of children that read books for fun has dropped dramatically in recent years. What are the reasons for this? How can we encourage children to read more?
Sample Answer:-
The joys and merits of reading are regularly propound both at schools and in society. Nevertheless, recent years have seen a sharp decline in the numbers of children who read for pleasure. There are several reasons for this unfortunate development, and a few possible ways to combat it.
It is perhaps no coincidence that as schoolwork has increased considerably in the past few years, so has children’s’ interest in reading dwindled. This is not only due to the fact that they are forced to study too much, which might make them associate books with dull school tasks; it is also because they are left with little free time. If we also consider how little reading is usually promoted at home by parents and family, it is no wonder that children are choosing alternative activities for fun. The biggest culprit, however, when it comes to the drop in children’s reading habit is technology. As children are nowadays exposed to a host of gadgets and technological distractions such as phones, tablets, laptops, etc., they are far less likely to dedicate time to books, which requires more concentration and imagination than visual entertainment.
What can we do to get children to read more, then? It’s simple: we should remind them – or, in many cases, teach them – that reading is fun. Parents should spare fifteen minutes per day to read with their children; libraries and schools should organize children’s books clubs, literacy events, reading competitions, etc. Technology should be switched off every now and then, both at school and at home, to remind children that there is a world beyond the screens – and a thousand worlds within the pages of myriads if books.
To sum up, it is nit surprising that children are not reading as much as before, considering recent developments in technology as well as in educational systems around the world. It is, however, highly preventable, as long as we adjust children’s environment and continue to promote reading for pleasure with honestly and enthusiasm.

Sunil Grover is a television stand-up comedian and extreme comedian. He’s best known for his time during “The Kapil Sharma Show”. Some of the TV characters of him like Gutthi, Dr. Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi are extremely lovable in which he has really displayed a remarkable sense of humour. The TV viewers love and cannot fail to watch his hilarious role.
He was little known to the public in the beginning and I guess the real start he got in his career through “The Kapil Sharma Show” where his talent touched all the heights of success. He played various roles in show Hindi movies before. I always love watching “The Kapil Sharma Show” and he’s one of the lead characters of this show. Gradually, I started liking his acting and a sense of humour, in fact, more than my favourite Kapil Sharma.
Sunil Grover is a very popular with his comedy in my country nowadays. His comic timing is very simple but entertainingly hilarious. It’s a very tough job to make people laugh at your own expense. He’s very observant about things around him and uses the very same scenario to create hilarious act on stage.
PART – 3 DISCUSSION
Do comedians earn a lot of money?
Well, it varies from comedian to comedian. Those who are lucky definitely mint. It’s handsome enough to put engineers and finance consultants to shame. The amount of career satisfaction and love from audience is tremendous. There’re some things even your MasterCard can’t buy at the same time we cannot ignore the fact that there are comedians who are still struggling to get somewhere.
Do you think these people deserve to earn so much money?
Yes, they deserve to earn a good amount of money as I personally feel to make somebody laugh is a very tough job, to create a comedy on the spot, be well informed as in what is going around them and others. It’s really some kind of a job that requires a lot dedication. We believe that it’s an easy job but it’s not since the artist has to prepare and needs to create eccentric ways to make the audience laugh. In that process, sometimes they even don’t spare themselves also.
Do many young people (or, children) try to imitate film stars (e.g., imitate their life style, clothes, etc.)? (If yes, how, why?)
Yes, children and youngsters do try to imitate film stars. They try copying the clothing style as it’s not really possible to imitate the lifestyle of film stars. Credit goes to the fashion industry to make it possible for youngsters to imitate the film stars as clothes are available at a reasonable price. Maybe they feel some sort of unexplained connection by doing that. It’s a sort of an innocent and mindless passion of children doing that. By doing that, they see themselves in a different kind of an imaginary world where they get everything what they want.
