SAMPLE ANSWER
The flowchart shows the steps and equipment involved in the production of black and white photos.
Overall, the process has multiple stages, from the taking of photographs with a camera, through the use of a development tank, an enlarger and a chemical bath, to the printing of black and white photographs.
In the first place, images are captured by a camera and recorded onto a black and white film enclosed in the camera. Because the photographic film is sensitive to light, the rest of the process takes place in a special room called ‘a dark room’. Here, the film is first removed from the camera and placed in the development tank to be developed and then washed. It is at this stage that the negatives are produced. These negatives are then viewed in an enlarger allowing the images to be made bigger or edited as required, and printed on photographic paper.
Next, these prints are placed in a chemical bath, where they are fixed and washed. After being dried, the finished black and white photos can be removed from the dark room.
