The graph below shows the percentage of 2 age groups who smoked in Netherlands from 1950 to 2010. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information in the graph below.

The line graph reveals the information about the percentage of smokers of age group 20-30 and 40-50 in Netherlands. The years under consideration are from 1950 to 2010.
It can be clearly seen from the graph that in 1950, the proportion of smokers in age group 40-50 was 6 times than smokers in the age group 20-30 that was 60% and 10% respectively. Next, the count of smokers who were in the age group of 40-50 decreased continuously and reached at the lowest point that accounted for a little more than 20. The rate of decrease was consistent over the period of 60 years.
Further, the figures of smokers in the younger age group increased till 1980 where it reached at 30%. Then it remained stable for about one decade and then started falling marginally. In the last year, the figures of smokers in this age group became almost the same as that of the other age group.
Thus, from the overall analysis, it is clear that in the first year, the gap between the smokers of the two age groups was wide but it started declining with the passage of years.
