The bar chart shows different methods of waste disposal in four countries: Australia, China, Japan, and the USA in 2010.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features of the chart and making comparisons where appropriate.
SAMPLE ANSWER:-
The bar graph depicts the information about diverse methods of waste disposal in four nations, namely Australia, China, Japan and the USA. The year under consideration is 2010.
It can be clearly seen from the graph that in Australia, percentage of waste disposal by landfill was highest that was 70. The figures of waste disposal by incineration, recycling and composting were negligible. Next, in China, waste disposed by incineration was 45%, which was followed by recycling with 30%, landfill with almost 30% and composting with 10%.
Further, in Japan, again waste disposed by incineration was highest with 60%, whereas by recycling, landfill and composting fell in descending order. Lastly, in the USA, similar trend was seen as that of Australia. Waste disposed by landfill accounted for 50% closely followed by incineration. 10% waste was disposed of by recycling while negligible by composting.
Overall, it is evident that landfill and incinerations were more favourable waste disposal method on an average while composting was the least preferred in all the countries.
