The graph illustrates the trend in energy demand and the availability of fossil fuel-based energy in Freedonia from 1985 to 2005.
Overall, energy demand showed a consistent increase, while energy availability fluctuated and eventually declined, leading to a widening gap between supply and demand by 2005.
In 1985, energy demand stood at approximately 5 units, slightly higher than the energy available, which was around 4 units. By 1990, demand dropped to 2 units, while availability increased to match it. Availability peaked at 7 units in 1995, while demand remained stable at around 2 units.
However, from 1995 to 2005, the trends reversed. Energy availability dropped sharply to 3 units and stayed constant, while demand surged. By 2005, the demand had more than tripled to about 7 units, creating a significant shortfall.
This data highlights a growing energy crisis in Freedonia, with demand far outpacing the supply of fossil fuel energy by the end of the period.
