The two maps illustrate how the village of Pebbleton has changed over the past 20 years.

Overall, the area has undergone significant development, particularly in terms of infrastructure and housing. While some features such as the lighthouse and houses have remained unchanged, new facilities have been introduced and old ones removed.

Twenty years ago, Pebbleton featured a film studio and a car park near the lighthouse. These have now been replaced by a café and a children’s playground, respectively. Additionally, a new footpath has been constructed around the sea area, enhancing access to the lighthouse. The area along the river, which was previously undeveloped, now includes a school, replacing the original woodland. A cycle path has also been added along the coast road, promoting eco-friendly transportation.

In summary, Pebbleton has become more urbanised and family-oriented over the last two decades, with a clear focus on accessibility, education, and recreational facilities.
