The map depicts the development of Chorleywood Village in London between 1868 and 1994. The map also presents the addition of communities in response to the population demand.

Overall, the first settlement began near the west of the current Chorleywood Park and Golf Course and spread out in all directions. Meanwhile, the initial connecting road began on the west and north of the community which then evolved into railways.

Initially, the village started as a single settlement close to the northwest of the current Charleywood Train Station. From 1883 to 1922, this community then spread to the south surrounding the railway stop. Furthermore, in the next 48 years, the Chorleywood inhabitants converted the land on both the east and west of their current suburb. In addition, from 1970 to 1994, most residents occupied an area located at the northeast and east of their present residential zones.

On the other hand, the rising population of Charleywood demanded accessible roads and modes of transportation. These roads were strategically placed beside the first settlement and the northern side of the latter developed areas. Meanwhile, in 1909, a railway was built spanning the length of the southern communities, where the railway station was also erected. Lastly, along with the recently established communities, the motorway was built in 1970 that transverses from north to south of the last built settlement.
