IELTS ACADEMIC WRITING TASK 1
The table shows the source material on which Hollywood movies were based from 1995 to 2013.

SAMPLE ANSWER
The table presents data on the origin of Hollywood movies produced between 1995 and 2013, including the number of movies, total gross revenue, average gross per movie, and market share for each source type.
Overall, original screenplays were the most common source, accounting for nearly 5,000 films and the highest market share, although they generated the lowest average gross per movie. In contrast, films based on theme park rides, though very few in number, achieved the highest average gross.
Movies based on books or plays ranked second in both total gross ($49.2 billion) and market share (29.9%), with an impressive average gross of $116.2 million. Remakes and TV-based films had moderate figures in all categories. Interestingly, while films based on legend, fairy tale, or facts had relatively low market shares, they still maintained average grosses above $40 million. This suggests that less common sources can still yield financially successful films.
