Carbon enters the atmosphere primarily through factory emissions, vehicle exhausts, plant respiration, and animal respiration. Factories and vehicles release large amounts of CO₂, significantly contributing to atmospheric carbon levels. Additionally, both plants and animals emit carbon dioxide during respiration.

Conversely, plants absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere through photosynthesis, a process fueled by sunlight. Some CO₂ is also absorbed through plant roots and transferred underground. Furthermore, dead organisms and waste products decompose, releasing carbon back into the soil and contributing to fossil fuel formation over time.

Water bodies absorb CO₂ from the air, and over long periods, carbon settles as fossil fuels beneath the Earth’s surface. Notably, factory waste also contributes to carbon deposition underground.

Overall, the diagram demonstrates a continuous and dynamic cycle, with both natural and human activities influencing carbon movement and storage in various environmental compartments.
