IELTS ACADEMIC WRITING TASK 1
The charts below give information about different types of waste disposed of in one country in 1960 and 2011. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The chart illustrates the proportion of a variety of waste that is being disposed of in one country between 1960 and 2011.
Overall, it is clear that the main disposal of waste is changed from paper to food. However, some of them still remain in the same place.
To begin with, paper occupied one quarter in 1960 followed by 17% of textiles. Food and other waste represented 12% together as well as green waste, metal and plastic were about well under 10%. Moreover, glass and wood stayed lower by 5%.
Additionally, food, at 21%, surpassed paper by 6% and became the first place in 2011, besides, plastic which was at 18% came second place. Textiles decreased by 6% while metal dropped by 1%. Green waste and glass held steady at as same as in the year 1960. Other waste nosedived by around 8% on the contrary, wood rose by exactly 4% in 2011.
