The Australian Bureau of Meteorology reports trustworthy weather forecasts with up-to-the-minute information. The diagram shows the procedure on how these data are collected, analyzed, and prepared with the end product of reports that we see in different devices.

The process begins with the collection of data. There are three sources of information. First are the satellites which provide raw images like satellite photos. Second are the drifting buoys that need additional information from radars to produce synoptic charts. Lastly, radars house all the data from both satellites and synoptic charts creating a radar screen.

The next step involves analysis and forecasting. The information collected from the satellite photos, synoptic charts and radar screen are the ground zero of thorough analysis and investigation to know the present and predict the upcoming climate. All these databases are stored in the computer where the broadcast is prepared.

In the final steps, the computers are where meteorologists summarize the countless amounts of Data gathered and finalize a weather report. The same computers distribute the time bound weather forecasts to different consumer devices may it be through their TV, newsreader, radio or a recorded announcement.
