The Dreaded Tropical Disease
Dengue is known as a tropical disease. It is fully curable, but it needs more care for prevention than cure. It is dreaded because of lack of knowledge, awareness and cure. It has never before invaded any European country with such fury as England this year. It has targeted victims particularly in Liverpool district, where, it is learnt, the administration had become lax in the matter of sanitation for quite some time.
Now , as of today the number of dengue patients from Liverpool district has reached 106. Though October has arrived and there is a little chill in the air, new dengue cases continue to be reported at the local hospitals every day.
“ The only way to keep mosquitoes at bay is to keep your surroundings clean. The worst part is that mosquitoes larvae were not only found in the interior of the city but also in the posh localities. Do not let water accumulate near your houses and change water in the flower pots regularly, “ said Dr. Rogern, District Epidemiologist.
