
‘Do’s and Don’ts’ OF IELTS SPEAKING
One should need to stay very careful when you appear in IELTS speaking. There are certain things that a person should keep in his/her mind.
In this article both the things will be given which you need to do and you don’t need to.
1. Flourish your ‘Good Impression’
Often students ask, if they smile, are friendly to the examiner and give the examiner good eye contact, would they get higher score. The answer is absolutely Yes!
Well, it’s not included in the markings which says that being polite or nice, or making an eye contact will improve your scores. Whereas, confidence helps you a lot to increase your scores because it has important role in speaking.
Hence, if you will look around or move your head in the different directions that will definitely let you lose your scores. Moreover, if you speak in monotone that will also let you to grade less.
You should speak in the way that will depict that you are likely giving a natural sounding answers.
Don’t give or overdo the eye contact thing. It feels odd when somebody looks towards other person for 15-20 minutes continuously. Just assume that you are having a normal conversation with an unknown friend. If, you will feel bashful and would keep looking to the ground it will seem that you are bit freeked out. Try to show intrest in leading a conversation.

2. Elaborate your answers
However, there is no word limit or any set amount of words or sentences that you have to use in the Part
They shouldn’t be very short as you need to show the examiner that you can have conversation in English and you can actually use the English language.
Remember that they should exceed much as Part 1 includes questions related to family, work, hobbies and others. You should not speak as much long example for 2 minutes when someone asks you where are you from. Added to this, you will get the opportunity to speak for 2 or 3 minutes continuously in other parts.

3. Practicing more and more
One should always keep in the mind that you need to learn the language. So, remember that you should practise more rather than memorising the answers. Speak on different topics day by day. Follow the different cue topic that you find in the IELTS material.
Whenever you practise down you should record your speaking and think about the following :
Could add more synonyms?
Look out your grammatical error that could be fixed?
Do you speak fluently or taking pauses?
What about your intonation?
Have you spoken clearly?
Which are the things you should not do?
1. Giving Answers in Yes/No
As you need to show your spoken language you shouldn’t follow the straight forward answers. You should start answering by Yes or with the other fillers with an appropriate reasoning. Don’t use word ‘No’ try to speak about the about if you don’t know the exact answer.

2. Going out of the topic
Mostly students try to share out the own personal experiences and life stories which are somewhere not needed. If you will do the same than it would the situation of going out of the topic.
3. Speak in a Polite Manner
This is the most important factor that students should always need to speak in a quiet manner as this shows their calmness and polite behaviour. If you don’t do that, this is the most annoying thing for an examiner. If you speaks fast or slow and not having that confident and soft voice this would make examiner to cut your scores.
