IELTS GENERAL WRITING TASK 1

Your child’s school has changed the school bus pick-up time, which is causing inconvenience.

Write a letter to the school principal. In your letter:

– Explain the problem and how it affects your routine

– Suggest a more suitable time

– Request a review of the new schedule

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Principal,

I am writing to express my concern regarding the recent change in the school bus pick-up time for my child, Riya, who studies in Grade 4.

Previously, the bus arrived at 7:30 a.m., which allowed us enough time to prepare calmly for the day. However, the new timing of 6:50 a.m. has created significant disruption to our morning routine. It is difficult for a child of her age to wake up so early, and we are constantly rushed, which affects both her mood and health.

I would like to suggest a revised pick-up time of around 7:15 a.m., which would still ensure timely arrival at school while being more manageable for families.

I kindly request you to review the current schedule and consider adjusting the timing for the benefit of the students and their families.
