The bar chart illustrates the annual number of rentals and sales of films in various formats (VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray) at a particular store from 2002 to 2011.

Overall, DVD sales and rentals were the dominant sources of home entertainment for most of the decade. While DVD sales rose initially and then declined, rentals steadily decreased over the period. VHS sales disappeared entirely, and Blu-ray only emerged toward the end of the timeline.

In 2002, rentals were the most popular format, with nearly 185,000 transactions, while DVD sales were around 125,000. VHS sales were also relatively high at approximately 90,000. Over the next few years, DVD sales increased, peaking at nearly 215,000 in 2007 before gradually declining. Rentals, however, experienced a consistent decrease, falling below 100,000 by 2011.

VHS sales declined sharply and ceased completely after 2005. Blu-ray, on the other hand, was introduced around 2007 and saw a modest rise, reaching just above 30,000 by 2011. By the end of the period, DVD sales and rentals had both declined significantly, while Blu-ray sales remained comparatively low.
