Vocabulary for School
Assignment: a task or piece of work allocated to someone as part of a job or course of study.
Sentence: She’s gone to Italy on a special assignment.
Agenda: a list of matters to be discussed at a meeting:
Sentence: Has everyone received a copy of the agenda?
Antonymous: involves a word or phrase with a meaning that is the opposite of another word or phrase:
Sentence: In one section of the test students are required to match antonymous word pairs.
Backpack: a large bag used to carry things on your back, used especially by people who go camping or walking
Sentence: She tightened her grip on her backpack and turned around slowly.
Bulletin Board: a board on a wall on which notices can be put:
Sentence: Our teacher put our pictures up on the bulletin board.

Curriculum: the subjects studied in a school, college, etc. and what each subject includes:
Sentence: Teachers feel that the present curriculum is too narrow
Chalkboard: a blackboard
Sentence: She wrote the day’s menu up on a chalkboard
Colleagues: one of a group of people who work together:
Sentence: He has told me about the new colleague

Dormitory: a large room containing many beds, for example in a boarding school
Sentence: In the dormitories, children were assigned beds in no particular order; ages and conditions
Detention: a form of punishment in which children are made to stay at school for a short time after classes have ended:
Sentence: He has a detention after school
Enrichment: the action of improving or enhancing the quality or value of something.
Sentence: Education provides enrichment to the lives of individuals in a number of ways
Vocabulary for School
Extracurricular Activities: programs outside of the regular school curriculum
Sentence: Each child had participated in extracurricular activities at school.
