SAMPLE ANSWER:-

The bar graph gives a clear picture of the number of Apricot trees under 6 years in South Australia over a time span of 15 years from 1983 to 1997. It is accompanied by a table which records the value of these trees in AUD for each given year.

There had been steady increase in the number of these trees till 1990. Thereafter, however, there had been slow decline in the rate till 1994, followed by a sharper fall towards the end. The corresponding value of the trees had also shown a more or less similar trend.

In 1983, there were around 51,000 trees, their value being AUD 56,976. Each tree cost slightly over AUD 1. The years 1986, 1988 and 1990 witnessed better growth rates, whereas 1987 and 1989 found decline in them. Similarly, there was no substantial reduction in the number during the three years following 1991. 1995 and the final year, 1997, recorded sharper decrease.

The conclusion, the year 1990 registered the peak number of approximately 175,000 trees and the highest value of AUD 181,811. There had not been any substantial difference in the average rate of the trees all along.
