Task that is too short or too long
The most common error students make is to write shorter or longer tasks. Most of the students get stressed when they have to manage the time in the examination. In addition, they also face examination anxiety due to which they forget to follow the instructions on word count. Moreover, many of them usually finish their tasks at the last minute, so consequently they don’t get proper time for proofreading and making any changes regarding the word limit.

The students have to use formal language in their specific tasks, except for the informal letter writing of general training students. They go for the wrong approach of informal writing by using layman language where everything must be organized and justify the demand of the question. Complicate the sentences
Generally, when the students get too involved in their task without properly reading the question and its demands, then it have its own adverse effects, such as the students’ mixing-up the whole task without making any sense of the words and sentences. The linking is missing in these types of sentences, and mainly it doesn’t make any sense. To exaggerate these sorts of sentences, students use the words and sentences from the task itself in repetition, which shows that the student does have in-depth knowledge of the language.
Wrong structure
In the writing module of the IELTS, it is essential that there be a properly defined, clear structure to be followed in the task. The student must follow the pattern which will be suitable for the specific subject to get the desired scores. The students who don’t have a strong grasp and clarity about the concepts of IELTS basically don’t go along with the structure of the tasks and are unable to crack the writing module.
Lacking an overview and conclusion
In the writing module, the intro and the conclusion parts are very essential as the examiner mainly judges the knowledge of the students from the overview and the conclusion as they both depict the relevancy of the task. Many students put more stress on the main body of the task and scramble through the overview and the conclusion of the task.
