The table depicts the number of Trillion Watt Hours, or TWh produced by five different renewable energy sources over three years from 2009 to 2012. The table shows that production from all five renewable energy sources ahs increased over the time period. Hydraulic energy produced more TWh than all of the other renewable energy sources combined. Geothermal energy showed the smallest increase in TWh produced, being overtaken in 2012 by solar energy, which generated the smallest number of TWh in the previous three years. The amount of wind energy produced in 2012 is almost double the amount produced in 2009, showing one of the greatest percentage increases. Although the amount of solar energy produced annually only increased by 83.5 TWh from 2009 to 2012, we can see that the figure has more than quadrupled from 21 KWh to 104.5 KWh, showing that solar energy has shown the greatest individual percentage increase.

Childhood obesity is becoming a problem throughout the developed world. Because of this, some people think that adverts for fast food, sweets and sugary snacks should not be allowed in schools and colleges.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this?
Give reasons for answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Sample Answer:-

The number of children, who are obese, or considerably overweight, has increased dramatically over past decades. The increase in childhood obesity causes a problem throughout the developed world because lifestyle obesity has been associated with decreased life expectancy, and is thought to increase the likelihood of certain illness and diseases, such as high blood pressure and some forms of diabetes.

In an effort to combat obesity beginning in childhood, and therefore decrease the likelihood of children becoming obese as adults, some people have proposed that adverts for unhealthy foods high in sugar and fat such as sweets and fast food should be banned from schools and colleges. People argue that the benefit of banning such adverts is that children will be less likely to crave and then buy unhealthy foods if they are not surrounded with appetizing images of unhealthy snacks which are known to increase the risk of obesity.

Although this could be true, and would certainly help students who were trying to be healthier to ignore unhealthy options, it is unlikely To get to the root of the problem. IELTS SPEAKING FULL INTERVIEW:-

PART – 1 INTRO PART

What is your full name?
My name is Dilip dhanani.

Can I see your ID, please?
Yes, of course, here’s my ID.

Where are you from?
I am from Ahmadabad. (Personal Answer)

Do you work or study?
I am working at the moment; I am doing my internship at a chartered accountant’s firm here in Ahmadabad.

When does rainy season start in your country?
Rainy season usually starts in the last week of May or the first week of June in southern India, and then spreads to other parts of my country.

Do you enjoy the rains or not?
I like the rains a lot. I like to go out when it rains. The climate becomes pleasant and soothing. I like to get wet in rain and feel the sensations of the raindrops on my face. All the trees, plants, buildings, and roads look new and fresh after a rainfall. I also enjoy going out with my family members to eat roasted corn and other traditional deep-fried dishes such as samsosas and lentil fritters.

What do you feel at the end of rainy season?
I really miss the rains at the end of the season. So, I usually try not to miss any opportunity to step out and enjoy myself when it rains. However, on the flipside, the climate often becomes uncomfortable for most animals, and epidemics spread faster at the end of rainy season. Even so, I look forward to the onset of the next monsoon.

What is the difference between the rains in your city, in the past and now?
The intensity and consistency of rainfall has changed a lot now, compared to the past. These days we get ten to fifteen inches of rainfall in just two to three days, compared to the past when we used to receive consistent rainfall over many months of the entire rainy season. Moreover, the places which earlier used to get scarce rainfall now get high or average rains, and some of the areas where the rainfall used to be heavy earlier, now get average or below-average rains.

What factors affect the rainy season?
There are quite a few factors that affect the rainy season. One of them is environmental pollution. The cloud formation and condensation processes are affected by both, pollution in the atmosphere, and global warming caused by higher carbon emissions in the air. Over the years these emissions have increased substantially as a result of industrialization and burning of fossil fuels. These factors disturb the weather cycles of many regions. Consequently, we have less rainfall in the rainy season and unexpected rains in the writer and summer.

PART – 2 CUE CARD

Describe a person whose job is important to the society.
You should say
– Who this person is
– What job this person does
– How you know this person?
– Why is their job important to society?

Sample Answer:-

Here, I would like to speak about not just one person, but many people of the same profession who have all played an important role in my life and helped shape me into the profession I am today. These people are the teachers who have taught me different things through life, both in school, and in college. Teachers do the important job of teaching subjects of their expertise to students. At the primary level in school, one teacher manages to teach lots of different subjects to a large classroom full of children. This in itself is a difficult task, as each class has many different individuals with different personalities and unique learning requirements. Students also have very different levels of comprehension and attention. A teacher manages to teach different things to all these individuals simultaneously, making sure none of them is lagging behind or feeling left out, a teacher teaches manners and life skills to students, too. In higher levels of education, different teachers teach different subjects to students, in tandem with one another. They keep an eye on students’ activities inside the classroom and outside, and where necessary they guide students to become better human being. If they notice a student going the wrong way in life, or making the wrong decisions, they act as counselors and gently bring the student back on the right track. They ensure that students get along with each other, in order to keep the classroom environment conductive to learning. They motivate students to excel at subjects they are weak at. Teachers answer crucial questions that could the minds of students at various stages in their school and college lives.
Teachers lay the foundation for a successful, progressive, tolerant nation, by educating future generations to turn them into civic, caring, sensitive, considerate, and ambitious individuals. Teachers are responsible for instilling moral and ethical values in students, who then go on to grow up into law abiding citizens. Education is the basic requirement for a nation to become developed. Education nurtures creativity and encourages innovation. It emphasizes the importance of peace and tolerance, thereby making a society safe for its residents. Because teachers provide education, their job is of much importance to society. Unfortunately, in India, teachers are often unappreciated and underpaid.

PART – 3 DISCUSSION

What jobs are well paid in India?
Jobs in the field of medicine and management are well paid in India in general. Jobs involving front facing, like the ones available in the hospitality industry, also pay well.

What jobs are poorly paid in your country?
Skill based jobs, public service jobs, teaching jobs, and clerical jobs are some examples of jobs that are poorly paid in my country.

Do people with different levels of income feel happy about how much they earn?
That depends on an individual’s personal requirements with respect to his earnings. If one has fewer requirements in comparison to the income they earn they may be very happy. However, if someone earns a lot, but still his earnings aren’t enough to meet his expenses, he may not be happy. Further, there are some people who are never satisfied, and keep trying o earn and accumulate more money. On the other hand, I have also come across saints and sages who hardly have enough to get by in life, and yet are completely satisfied.

Do you think students who have just graduated should have the same income as old people?
Income, in my opinion, should depend more on skill and contribute than on experience alone. Experience in a field is only of any value if that experience enables a person to offer more to his field of work than others who are less experienced. Is experience is blindly rewarded; it encourages complacency in the older generations and discouragement to the newer generations. Instead people should earn based on their contributions, irrespective of how long they have been working somewhere.
