British Council IELTS Cancellation & Refund of fees policy 2021
A candidate work hard to prepare for IELTS exam. Appearing and scoring desired band score is dream of every aspirant but sometime the circumstances of life don’t allow to do so and one have to cancel or postpone the exam. So, today we will discuss the Cancellation & Refund of fees policy of British Council.
First let’s see the exam postpone policy-
– You should know that you can transfer your test date only once.
– You can postponed you IELTS test date after deduction of an administrative fee. Your exam can be transferred if you submit original medical certificate within five days of the test date confirming your illness and describing your inability to sit for the test on the scheduled date is provided. Certificate should be accompanied with the Online Application Form.
– If your exam is transferred to a new test date and on the second test date you again become ill, then you are not legible to a refund of the test fee or to any further transfer to a new test date.
General Conditions for Cancellation & Refund of fees
The IELTS test fee is refundable after deduction of an administrative fee.
The application for Cancellation & Refund of fees is verified once its’ received, if any discrepancy is found than the organization demand the missing information from the candidate through email. If details are found complete, the candidate is updated via SMS once the refund is initiated.
Refund of the test fees will be done through the following modes:
– The fee paid online will be refunded to the bank account that was used for making online payments.
– The fee paid at ICICI bank will be refunded via NEFT.
If the application is approved, the test centre will refund the amount in the account number mentioned on the application form.
Making and clearing refund process can take upto five (5) weeks.
Your IELTS test fees will stand forfeited under the following conditions:
– If the British council don’t receive the Online Application for cancellation of IELTS along with the supporting documents before the scheduled test date. In this case you will be marked as absent and your claim for refunding fees will be forfeited.
– If you have paid for your IELTS test through ICICI Bank but did not complete your registration for the test within three months of the date of payment of the test fee. In this case also your claim for refunding fees will be forfeited.
Request for Transfer of Test Date (Pen & Paper based IELTS)
– If you want to change the date of your test you should request for the same up to five (5) weeks before the test date. The allocation of the next test date will be subject to availability and it’s the authority of the centre to give you the new date.
– The new test date will be given within three months of the original date.
– Complete the Online Application Form for postpone of exam and should reach the organization 5 weeks before the test date.
– An administrative fee will apply for all such requests.
