14 Things you should know before you book IELTS exam
IELTS aspirants are usually confused about the rules and regulations of the test and due to unawareness they breach some rules. So, today in this article we will discuss 14 Things you should know before you book IELTS exam.
Entering the exam hall
At the entrance of the examination hall you will have to go through the registration process where your figure prints and identification documents will be checked. Once you finish with the registration process you have to go through security gate, before that you should deposit everything in the cloakroom except:
– Original identification document (Passport)
– Pencils, sharpener, eraser
MAIN EXAMINATIONS
1. Candidates are not allowed to leave the hall once they have completed check-in procedures in case of any urgency they can go out only with an invigilator. Candidates who want to use bathroom will be allowed to leave the hall during the test using their own time, but they must also be accompanied by an invigilator.
2. Your ID must be placed on your desk. The only other items allowed on your desk are stationery i.e. Pencils, pens, an eraser and a pencil sharpener.
3. Avoid wearing goggles, caps and hats as these accessories will cover your face and the invigilator will face difficulty to verify your face with the picture on your ID proof.
4. Speaking in the examination hall is strictly prohibited with anyone other than the invigilator. If you have any problem or want to ask something you should raise your hand and the invigilator will come to you.
5. If your headphone are not working or there is something wrong with your question paper tell an invigilator immediately.
6. You shouldstop writing as soon as the invigilator announces the end of the test. If you don’t do that you can be disqualified from the exam.
7. You must return all exam papers, including any unused writing paper, to the invigilator at the end of the morning written examinations.
SPEAKING EXAMINATION
8. The time of speaking test is on the card which is pasted on your desk. Keep this chit with you as it will be in need for your speaking test. It also has candidate number which is needed to access your result online.
9. You must bring your ID, candidate number sticker and yellow desk card with you because they will be checked at the speaking Registration Room. Your finger scan will also be checked to verify your identity.
10. You must arrive at the Speaking Test Registration Room 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time as the process of registration and verifying your ID takes time. Candidates arriving late for their speaking test will be interviewed only at the discretion of the examiner.
11. There is a cloak room in the speaking venue where you can deposit your personal belongings and take back after the completion of the test.
12. You should show your ID to the examiner when he demands you to do so and if your identity is not verified examiner have the right to cancel the interview.
13. Any candidate found giving information about the examinations to other candidates or to any other person during or after the test will be disqualified.
14. Any candidate caught violating any of the above said rules can be disqualified or your test can be invalidated and notification will be sent to any receiving institution or professional body.
