How often do you look at yourself in the mirror?

I look at myself in the mirror everyday when I wake up; it’s sort of my morning ritual. I work in a professional environment, so I always do my best to look presentable. That’s why I have to look in the mirror to make sure my hair is tidy, my face is groomed and my clothes are not wrinkled.

Do you often buy mirrors?

Not really. I mean I only buy one when mine gets broken. But other than that, I don’t really buy mirrors. Girls might, though. I think most females have a habit of replacing mirrors quite often.

Do you think mirrors are a necessary decoration?

I think it is a very useful decorative item. With a beautiful frame, it can nicely complement a living room or a bed room. In addition, in a small house, mirrors can actually make the space look bigger. Actually, a lot of restaurants use mirrors to give the guests the illusion that the space is bigger than it actually is.

What will you bring when you go out?

Well, you know, there are certainly some items that I’d consider essentials whenever I go out. For example, a pair of headphones to listen to music when I’m on the move. It really makes my daily commute less boring.

Did you ever forget to bring something?

Well, I am going to admit that I’m quite a forgetful person. There have certainly been times when I’ve left the house without my keys, my phone or even worse, my wallet. It’s really a nuisance finding out that you have no cash on hand when you want to pay for, like, a coffee or something.

Will you bring different things in the daytime or at night?

I guess I do bring different items at different times of day. Like, for example, in the morning when it’s really sunny, a pair of shades might come in handy so I always bring that. By contrast, at night when it can get a bit cold, it’s quite useful to have a light jacket to brace yourself against the chill.

In an ideal world, nobody should really be strangers to us because we all share pretty much the same goals, feelings, sadness and happiness in our life. But, unfortunately, we don’t live in an ideal world where our limitation as humans and fear of the unknown force us to be sceptical about trusting a stranger. Needless to say, I am not immune from this scepticism either.

But, I still needed to trust a stranger about 5 years ago when my father had to go through a critical by-pass heart surgery. By the way, my father was already a 70 years old person back then, and he had suffered from a massive heart attack a few days earlier. Luckily, we were in the hand of a very expert heart surgeon, who assured us that his team would have no problem in having a successful operation on my father by the grace of almighty.

Having said that, however, he also warned us at the same time that my father was also in risk of losing too much blood at the time of surgery since he was a rather old man. Anyway, the doctor also gave us an idea as to how many bags of blood would be required to keep my father in a stable condition.

What made you decide to trust that person?

The person seemed genuinely friendly and took the time to listen to my request without any hesitation. They also appeared knowledgeable about the area, which gave me confidence in their directions.

Did you have any concerns about trusting a stranger?

Of course, there was a slight concern about whether the directions would be accurate or if there was any ulterior motive. However, their demeanor and helpfulness reassured me enough to take their advice.

How did the interaction turn out?

Surprisingly well! The directions I received were spot on, and I managed to reach my destination without any issues. It turned out that the person was genuinely trying to assist me without any hidden agenda.

Would you trust a stranger in a similar situation again?

I think I would, depending on the circumstances. This experience taught me that while caution is necessary, many people are willing to help without expecting anything in return.

What did you learn from this experience?

I learned that sometimes it’s okay to trust strangers in certain situations, especially when they demonstrate sincerity and willingness to assist. It also reinforced the importance of being cautious while remaining open to genuine help from others.
