PART – 1 INTRO
What is your name?
My name is Niharika Pathak.
Can I see your ID?
Sure, this is my passport.
Do you work or study?
I work as an accountant with Kataria motors.
Why did you choose this kind of work?
I always loved numbers and playing with them. When I was a kid, I was very good at arithmetic, and then accountancy. Numbers come to me very naturally; in fact, I loved to do some hard sums in schools, and also helped many of my classmates.
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
At the moment, I look after entire accounting section at Kataria motors, Ahmadabad. Our company has expanded by leaps and bounds in the state of Gujarat. I foresee myself working as a chief accountant for the entire state in coming years. If the company expands pan India, I will surely then aim at becoming the head of accounting department at a national level.
Would you like to become a celebrity if you had a chance?
There is no harm dreaming. I guess who doesn’t like to become a celebrity. Yes, I will wait for such a moment in my life.
Why is that?
People know every celebrity, and their all habits. They’re all over in the news all the time. One feels confident and respected being remembered at the national or international level for some good reasons. It’s prefect platform of becoming popular overnight. This is the chief reason that I would like to become a celebrity. However, it’s a wild goose chase for me at the moment.

SAMPLE ANSWER
I am not a huge fan of concerts because of the crowds and the unnecessary hype created around them. Once I wanted to give musical concert tickets as a birthday gift to my friend. Even after trying hard, I could not get hold of it, and she was very upset. Although I am a huge fan of Linkin Park, I never really got a chance to attend one of their concerts.
My only recollection of a concert is a musical concert organized by my college. I was a volunteer, so I had to attend it. Different groups of people were invited to perform at it. The concert began with a local singer who sang popular folk songs and commercial hits. He was followed by a famous band who played instrumentals. This gave the student crowd a chance to cool down after they had danced to the songs of the local singer. After the instrument was over, another rock band came on stage. They ‘rocked’ the stage with their performance and the air became electric. But the next presentation, a face-off between the two bands – made this event memorable for me.

This concert took place in the college auditorium. Being a part of the organizing committee, I knew the schedule. It took planning for about a month and a half to put this event together. On the D-day, I arrived at the venue earlier because I had to look into the final preparations. The concert began at 8 p.m. with the arrival of all the guests. Some of our professors and the Dean welcomed the guests, and eventually they left the auditorium for the students to enjoy.
I could not enjoy the first two performances because I had duty backstage. Later, I met my sister whom I had invited to the event and we enjoyed the remaining show with some of our friends. When the last performance of the day began, there was pindrop silence. Everyone was anxious to see how the two bands would match the different genres of music. While one was soft and soothing, the other was loud and energetic. Initially, the two bands were playing their pieces one by one. Gradually, they started to merge the two genres, and it seemed that they were playing parts of the same song together. The duet was mesmerizing and ended in thunderous applause from the audience.
We came back home with the performances etched in our minds. Although I did not have the chance to attend any more concerts, I can proudly say that my only experience of a concert was a fantastic one.

Many young people spend a lot of money on concerts as they have a passion for listening to live music. Young people also follow and like many famous singers and musicians and thus become ready to spend thousands of rupees to buy tickets to the concerts of their favourite singers.
Do you think older people like the same music as young people?
Well, I do not think so. Most of the older people like mild and soothing music which can calm their mind such as soul music whereas youngsters like the music which has good beats and which one can dance to such as rock or pop music.

Yes,old age has nothing to do with suitability for attending concerts as people of all ages enjoy listening to live music shows. Music admirers are found in all age groups thus they can attend music concerts if it interests them regardless of their age.
Why do shopping malls often have background music?
Background music at shopping malls or stores helps create a personal space for customers, gives them privacy as they walk around the store and browse the products and make comments to friends or family. The music played in the background helps them to feel that they are at some place different with good ambience and also they can avoid the subconscious thoughts and worries that may come to their mind.
